OK, How much of a difference is there in the quality of American versus import, in the Jackson line. Anyone have any opinions? I only have experience with the jap built Jacksons. I happen to think they have an outstanding quality for the money.

skotrod so so true!!! i've owned both usa and import jackson's, we BOTH own the dk-2 with the errie dess swirl paint , one hell of a guitar!! , other than the fact the hardware and the pickups, switches, etc being higher quality both usa and jap jacksons feel about the same, other than hardware you could close your eyes playing the thing and never know the differance in my opinion

the import jackson necks are cool but...you need to sand the finmish off the back of the neck. ITs too sticky I need em unfinished...the electronics suck and the hardware sux. BUt other than that for a feww $$$ you can get a NEW ONE. FOR A FEW MORE $$$ you can get a used USA

I think the old Professional series Jackson's are a serious bang for your buck and are about equal in quality with their US counterparts.
New Jackson imports are great guitars for the price..possibly better than the other major competitors.
I just think you get what you pay for.
A used USA Select or older Jackson Ontario will be your best value.

I have a jackson/charvel import, model number 308036. its a bolt on, has the older floyd rose with the pointy rods, 2 jackson singles and jackson hum for bridge. 1 volume knob (of course) 2 tone knobs..and three ON/OFF switches for each pickup. I'm not sure if more jackson/charvel models use 9 volts but this one does...I've been searching the net for information on this model and I've had no luck. Any information would be extremely appreciated. I'll check back at the forum or if anyone has any information, you can email me at jonmattrob1218@hotmail.com thanks

personally i love the jap models i have a usa dinky pro with reverse headstock and its incredible and i also have a 2005 trans amber dk2 that i bought used and its incredible they both have cts pots and all new wiring and they both play insanely great for what i payed for them i picked up both of them and spent less then 5 bills for them but if i had to go any way at all it would probably be a soloist even though i have never played one i love but as longs as its a jackson i would love to play it. i think jackson has done better then almost anybody else by making a badass guitar for the prices you pay to play one and i am definetly going to stick with jacksons for years to come.
GO JACKSON
